Just like filling up the bathtub

We are slowly adding water to the pool. They asked us to fill to the bottom of the pool light for now. All of our digging efforts have paid off. That is the line out to the future Tiki Bar. Cheers!

Ditch Diggers

Saturday the electrician came out to take a look at what needed to be done for the pool and tiki bar. We discussed some options on running the cables. In the end the decision was made to go underground with all of the electrical. Unfortunately this meant that we needed about 180 feet of approximately 2 foot trench dug before Monday. I rented a Ditch Witch first thing Sunday morning. You don't know fun until you have dug a trench in the rain. Not to mention trying to make a curve with a machine that is designed to go a straight line. My brother in law, Kelly, helped out all day which was very much appreciated. I can tell you that this is probably the last trench we ever dig. Laura did an incredible job pulling out dirt. You should have seen her using the post hole diggers to make sure it was all the right depth. And then when it was all finished at around 8:30pm, Laura and I had the exciting job of cleaning the ditch witch. What an exciting date. Ten dollars in quarters, Laura working the sprayer and me digging dirt out of the chain with a screwdriver. When you been workin a sprayer as long as Laura has.....

It's in the Hole

The flying pool made it's way into the hole. Everyone guided it in without any problems. We officially have a pool in the ground.

Flying Pool

They prepped the hole with sand. Then the crane came in and picked up the pool and brought it over the fence.

The Unloading

They brought a crane in to unload the pool. They picked it up off the semi and put it on a trailer to take down to our house.

It's Here

Well the semi pulled up this morning with our Pool. Ours is the big one on the bottom.

The Dig Continues

Well today was a big day. Lots of dirt. A few of the neighbors took a load of dirt in their front yards, including us. We left a bunch in the back to spread around after everything is complete. The day ended with the sand being brought in for the leveling tomorrow.

The Dig

Well it is the end of the first day of the dig. Talk about a lot of GREAT things happening. We have some incredible soil, not to mention a GIGUNDOUS hole in our back yard. We are going to relevel our lawn and give as much soil as we can to anyone who wants some. The rest is going to be hauled off. Armondo did a great job digging our the pool. Tomorrow he is going to finish up.

Cheers!

The Day it all Starts

Well today is the day they start digging. Here are some early morning pics of what the yard is looking like. Notice the playscape is gone.

Cheers!

The Disassembly Begins
